Retainers & Mouthguards

Waking up with a dull headache, a sore jaw, or sensitive teeth is a frustrating way to start your day. Often, we find that our patients don’t even realize that they’re clenching or grinding their teeth at night; they’re just dealing with the unwanted symptoms.

We want to help you prevent problems, not only fix them. With custom-fit mouthguards, we provide a comfortable and durable layer of defense to help you sleep soundly.

Night Guards for Grinding & Clenching

If you grind or clench your teeth while you sleep, the continuous force can be strong enough to wear down, chip, or even break your teeth. Our custom-fit night guards solve this. These durable, comfortable appliances will be worn while you sleep to act as a protective cushion.

By separating your teeth, it absorbs the force of the clenching, which protects your enamel from being worn away and gives your jaw joint a chance to rest, which also helps prevent TMJ disorder. The benefit? No more morning headaches, jaw soreness, or damaged smiles.

Sports Guards for Athletic Protection

A custom sports guard is one of the most important pieces of protective gear you can have if you’re active. It’s a secure, multi-layered guard worn during athletic activities to give your tooth a cushion to protect it from being chipped, fractured, or knocked out.

It also helps protect your lips, cheeks, and tongue from being cut. The benefit? You, or even your child, can tackle your sports activities without worry. You’ll also be able to breathe and speak more easily than with bulky, over-the-counter options.

Custom retainers and mouthguards offer a number of advantages over over-the-counter options, like:

  • Greater comfort with a mouthguard that isn’t bulky and doesn’t interfere with breathing or speaking. And, because it’s comfortable, you’ll actually wear it.
  • Superior protection that fits perfectly to provide maximum protection, whether absorbing grinding forces or a sports impact.
  • Unmatched durability thanks to professional-grade, high-quality materials designed to last for years, which saves you money and hassle in the long run.

  1. First, you will have a consultation with Dr. Cho, where he will examine your teeth and jaw, discuss your symptoms or athletic needs, and answer your questions. If we decide that a mouthguard is right for you, he’ll take a quick, precise impression of your teeth.
  2. During your second appointment, once your custom mouthguard is ready, we’ll check the fit to ensure it’s perfectly comfortable. We can also make minor adjustments, if needed, so you can leave our office with the protection you need.
